Greenpeace in Central and Eastern Europe is looking for a

Regional Project Controller

The main purpose of this role is to manage projects from a financial perspective, primarily driven by programs that may be funded internally or externally, each with distinct reporting requirements. Furthermore your responsibility is to control the program budget. You will be acting as both a Controller and Financial collaborating Partner.

The responsibilities include supporting the budget and forecast processes, meeting reporting needs and the enhancement of current reporting methods. The Project & Program Controller is responsible for clearly understanding the status of projects and reporting updates to the Finance Director and Program Managers.

In this role you will:

  • Act as independent project controller for of international / transnational campaign projects and other relevant projectsManage and support applications for grants, ensure that approval processes are followed
  • Cooperate closely with Project Managers and Campaign Leaders
  • Coordinate with staff controlling
  • Develop new reporting tools, and improve current ones
  • Visualize Project status and development of internal forecasting and reporting processes
  • Create the budget and forecasts with project management
  • Monitor projects and create regular variance analyses
  • Prepare monthly reports for budget holders, project leads and Program Directors
  • Organize and perform financial training for new budget holders
  • Line manage one Program Controller

What we are looking for:

  • 5 years experience in project controlling preferably in international organizations
  • Business management studies with focus on controlling is highly preferred
  • Proactive stakeholder management
  • Accurate and analytical approach
  • Capable of analyzing complex systems with strong numerical insight
  • Very good english skills
  • High level of self responsibility
  • High level skills of excel / google sheets
  • Strong and sensitive communication skills
  • Able to thrive in high pressure environments

This role may be based in one of these regional offices in CEE: Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia. The salary depends on the final location and is based on the organization's salary system.
